The Dook vs Ed-ric - May - August 2011 by dookyIKRdooky The Dook vs Ed-ric - May - August 2011 by dookyIKRdooky
I was almost going to use this as the retaliation [link] but I'd figured you would want the meat instead. Well this is the conversation Eric Thorsen / Edwardengine / Ed-ric and I had over the course of a few months over the Summer, images and so on are also included.

For the most recent in Ed-ric's doings, please click here: [link]

That's just too good that when he links you the site it says that anime is supposedly "realistic", when one character is holding a laser sword; and they all have abnormally large boobs, not to mention most of every anime has characters with weird triangular chins.
Edit: Its also funny that he thinks changing drawing/animation style is fucking up his life, but i'm pointing out the obvious now.

He's pretty hung up on the whole hating-modern-cartoons thing
You use "barley" instead of "barely", he uses "meat" instead of "meet". We all know who's the worse one (except Ed-ric of course)
*Shrugs* Yeah. My "miss take".

I'm sure that other guy has some points in his defence... but for the record, your way better at drawing then him and he sound kinda retarded/ pompus when he acts like his artworks better.

I'm not normally one for commenting on old arguments, but this is just priceless :D It confounds me as to how someone such as Ed could even begin to imagine that he was in the right here _ . I was lucky enough to be one of the people who got to test the original Phineas and Ferb episodes here in the Uk and his reasoning of "Phineas's head is a triangle so the show is bad" just astounds me -_-. Well anyway thank you for providing me with a good chuckle sir ^_^ Love the art By the way. ~ British

I said I'd link to this during class today, so here it is! [link] Courtesy of :iconspeedking:, one of the artists I follow from my days on iRO. It's quite thorough about his opinions on how art should really be classified. You don't have to agree with it, but it does also remind us that art doesn't exist in a vaccuum. And I quote:

"And yet Tezuka "God of manga" was heavily inspired by Popeye and Disney. And other mangas today derive inspiration from other sources not just other manga such as noir, graffiti, and superheros. The first mecha was actually designed for spiderman. So it's not an isolated style as you think, it didn't start out that way it won't end that way."

That Ed-ric gets soooo offended that you don't draw anime and instead have inspiration from western cartoons is outrageous for that very reason. Japan is inspired by us. We're inspired by them, too. Ideas get slung back and forth. To have such a petty argument over the style someone uses is absolutely silly.

Also, "people are going to think that I trace!" People wouldn't think you traced if you didn't actually trace...
